Just been speaking to my dealer who has informed that my car is being built now! - hurray! so I said I would now wait until 1st March for new plates.

My dealer then told me that if it comes in early they will not be able to hold it until that date without them incurring a £500 surcharge from Peugeot!!!! Has anyone else encountered this and is it true?

Obviously I have waited this long (since September) so I want new plates on my CC - Anyone got any suggestions?

I am also interested in getting colour coded bumpers, Mesh grill (will this fit on 1.6 s?) and chrome roll bars - can anyone tell what I should expect to pay for this little lot?!

Look forward to your replys!

No the mesh wont fit on the 1.6, but if u wanna change the front bumper to the 2.0 one it can be done. I've done it and i think it makes the car look so much better, cause I really dislike the front bumper on the 1.6.

I can give you details on what you need to do to change the bumper if you want, just let me know.

Stephen,

Just get it now and buy a cheap private dateless or obviously old plate then it doesn't matter! I bought a reg to go on my car and the dealer got it put straight on. It was a 51 plate thought don't know if that makes a difference.

Yep, buy a "dateless" plate.. Give the retention document to the dealer..

They will then register the car with that plate..

When you come to sell it.. You get a cherished plate tranfer done..
The DVLA will issue you a new reg no for the correct year for ur car. and you will get the origional on a new retention certificate or register it on ur new car...

Mine was delivered new with my personnal plate.. So it never wore a "Y" mark..

Prices Start from £250.00

Mine was delivered on august the 12th and I picked mine up on september the first. So I would think that if the dates are not too far apart there should not be a problem

Regards

Thanks for the info everyone!

I'm thinking a personal plate would look great (but maybe not SR 1!!!!!!! - alittle too pricey!!)

I will keep you posted as to what happens.

Anyone got any idea on prices for the add ons that I mentioned?

Hi Stephen,

Peugeot have released a mesh grill for the 1.6 now as i asked when i ordered my car and they let me know when it came out. You can also have the one by the peugeot badge.

My car was built wednesday I was having it 1.3.01 and the dealer said they would keep it for me.

But they said I could take delivery of it in two weeks though so i think i'm doing that and getting a private plate, as I don't think I can wait another 7 weeks.

Ithink the grills are about £200 for the pair

mesh grille for 2.0SE is £179 fitted. you will need to get a new bumper too as erm says or buy the new one for the 1.6 as mentioned in a previous post. only thing wrong with one on a 1.6 bumper is that i guess it would be much smaller compared to the 2.0 version.

looks at http://www.pugsport-gti.com for details on the hoops.

you may also want to consider wheel arch extensions that are £149 painted & fitted.

lyndon,

had the same problem again when starting on tuesday, 4th time in all and 2nd time since it was supposedly fixed.

my dealer has asked me to attend a meeting with them on thursday to discuss my problems with them and the car which should be interesting - that was after my very long letter of complaint to them.

they said they will have a suitable courtesy car waiting for me so i will have to phone them on monday to see what it is to see if i think it is suitable

i will let you know how i get on coz they are going to get a very hard time over the immobiliser fault - then for everything else too.
