Should this switch be 'closed' in normal operation, 'opening' when the roof goes in?
Likewise with the switch on the panel of three, the one closest to the rear? (Is that D?)
Does that make sense?
Thanks

This one

It's the switch hidden behind the left hand boot hinge.

Other way round? Or wrong switch identifier? With roof closed, my switch is also closed but the other two are open.....Slo wrote: Switch I is closed when the roof is fully open and open when its closed

Re: Microswitch K
I¦ retractable roof open switch
when you open the roof fully it closes the switch so the ecu knows the roof is out of the way of the boot lid
when you close the roof it opens the switch so it knows its started to close the roof then when fully closed it closes
K¦ retractable roof closed switch

No, stumped!
Must be D? In its normal state it is closed - sits just beneath the bracket which inhibits the bar from moving, meaning the bracket must move to allow it to 'open'

Re: Microswitch K
C and D switches are for the parcel shelf, forget all about the parcel shelf its not part of the equation until you get switch D working and the boot lid to lower as that will activate it automatically.
Really don't know how to explain it any easier than I have already.
What don't you get?

Ok. Had a another look. Still think I'm going mad though
Couple of pics now attached - interestingly the pin that moves to close the bar on the switch in the first pic is NOT where it was when I took a pic previously ( in my 'mixture of usual issues' thread )! It is higher up?
The second pic shows the switch to the front which appears closed even when the roof is closed.
Sorry about pic orientation but they right themselves when you open them I think.

Re: Microswitch K
Does that 'metal hanging down with the rubber on the end' part spring down when you push it up or does it stay up? It needs to be nice and free so the metal pin in the first picture, can release the micro switch or the ecu wont be able to detect that the roof is completely stowed or not.
From the picture and what you have mentioned in your pm I think that its not dropping down enough to release the switch, you can see the channel in which it travels, it needs to drop to the end of that channel completely out of the switches way then you can adjust the switch over into its path correctly.
That second picture is one of the parcel shelf switches, nothing to do with the roof position, you are confusing them with the closed roof switch which is next to the left hand side hinge.
A dealer is selling one off cheap on ebay it retails for £108 bargain at 35 and hes even got best offer available, but you need to test yours first.

I know your problem will be the switch in your first picture though as its that one that tells the ecu to close the bootlid after the roof has stowed, which is what yours isn't doing the exact same as what mine did when I got it to work eventually.

Cheers Slo!
That switch in the corner has no play in it when the roof is closed, therefore the switch is closed. Does that make sense?

Yes and thats how it should be, and it is working now I think about it as you said when you closed the roof the boot lid closes after, that switch is what tells the ecu it is safe to do so.
So.......does your hanging down part with the rubber on the end drop freely when you push it up and let go? Or can you pull it down further than what it drops by itself?

Re: Microswitch K
I pulled that bit down and it released the pin from alongside the bar of the switch, so it is now at rest at the base as normal (I think ??).
There is only a small amount of play on the rubber/pin assembly, at least manually, but in guessing this is normal. When I push the rubber up it does fall down again.
