I seem to remember reading that you could operate the roof while driving (low speed obviously) but when i tried it in my new 2002 spec cc it beeps at you if you try doing it. Has it been disabled now?

no it does work, if it beeps at you you are going to fast. Basically anything more than a crawl it won;t work. It's something like under 7mph it'll work. I'd go and test it but it's raining outside

How do you operate the roof while driving?
My manual says I have to pull up the handbreak ?

Sorry, had no chance to experiment since the cc is not there yet

Yeah, it was a perfect evening for topless driving.

Be careful if you're going to operate the roof while driving. If you start going over 7mph the roof will just stop where it is. Embarrassing if you're in a traffic jam that suddenly starts moving.
Yes had that at lights a while ago, the light changed green, I pulled away with the boot stuck in the vertical position, major embarassment, but it made all the drivers laugh though. Oh well, At least the boot wasn't ripped of the hinges but I wouldn't say it boosts your street cred.

Robbie.

You can operate the roof when driving if you're going realy slow - I've done in traffic once but the 20 seconds it takes to complete feels like an awfully long time !!

BTW the handbrake doesn't need to be up.

Just stop the car, and then operate the roof..
