peugeot died, wont start

Post by melissab »

Hi guys,

I have a wee petrol peugeot 206 cc zest, 2005, she has around 89.000 miles on the clock.
My husband took it out tonight, by the time he had it down at the bottom of the road she died in the middle of the road. He just opened the window and it died. No warning lights or anything. I was driving her this morning to do some shopping and she was grand.

The engine is not igniting at all.

I've been doing a lot of driving in her recently, around 50 miles 4 days a week. Not to long ago I had a full service done and I had to get the motor replaced for the roof.

Can't think of anything else to add.

Hi ;)

Thanks for replying. Turns out is was the fuse board!

Is it normal for it to go without any warning? Surly, If I was on the motorway when that happens I could potentially be seriously hurt?!

Thanks you :)

To be fair, an electrical fault could result in a car fire, which could also involve you being seriously hurt.

Fuses are there for a reason, and they almost always blow for a reason.

Yep. The remains of a Merc Estate just off the M6 / M42 junction shows how dangerous a car fire is. Apart frim the overall shape little else remained that was recognisable.

I'm assuming the driver got out as he was probably the very pale forelorn figure on his mobile by the hard-shoulder.
