Driver side wiper catching on rubber

Post by marcuspiper »

Had my 206 for nearly 12 years (04). The blades I had for years were noisy and eventually were not wiping all of the screen after having a new windscreen fitted.
My mechanic replaced them last year, and the driver side wiper seemed to get stuck at its tip when the windscreen was not saturated in water. I had thought that they just stuck to the screen a lot better than the originals, and the rubber blade was sticking.
About a week ago I was driving home in very light rain. The blade kept getting stuck and then pinging up. At one stage it got totally stuck (and bent) and I had to give it a nudge with my hand.
I now realize that the wiper arm is reaching the end of the screen and catching on the rubber that holds the windscreen in place.
I thought this could be a problem with the nuts holding the motor to the car, they seemed tight. I loosened and re-tightened to no avail. Any ideas? Is the blade that was put on just too long?

Is it catching at the top of the screen or the screen pillar?
Cheers Col.
