Pedals failure today

Post by lobinha »

So, today I had a car accident just leaving house. Was just leaving the parking space from my house, when my pedals stopped working and I went straight to my front neighbors walls. Front bumper is now broken and the left side chassis is bent inward just near the passenger mirror.
Got mechanic coming on Monday to have a look, but price wise, am I looking for an expensive fix? He said on the phone maybe clutch is a bit loose. Just what I need near Christmas.

What pedal(s)? Brakes and clutch or just one of them?

Was clutch my friend was with me in the car, he then parked the car for me as I was shaking, and said the clutch was making a cranky noise. But he also said the brake and gas were a bit strange too.

The stoppy one in the middle is the important one. You pushed this pedal down and nothing happened? Had it been fine before this event or had you noticed the pedal biting lower and lower. You can loose breaking when you loose hydraulic pressure, for example when a pipe bursts.

The insurance will write this off by the sounds of it.

Still not sure with one failed ... Sounfs like brake but then it suggests clutch too. Could pedal assembly has snapped?

The damage near door means wing has been pushed back ... Insurance claim will be write-off as it's easier and cheaper for them.
