How do I change the courtesy light?

Post by lobinha »

Hi was wondering if anyone can help on how to change the courtesy light? I'm not sure it is just the light that's gone or if it will be a fuse gone. Thanks

Using a flat bladed screwdriver, carefully ease the light unit out and disconnect it from the wiring connector.
Release the bulbholder from the light unit. The bulb is of the capless push-fit type and can be removed by simply pulling it out of the bulbholder.

Refitting is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Might be cheaper to buy a pack of 10 off ebay. Your local auto part seller will always say £1 for non halogen bulbs.

I think the capless bulbs would be 12v t10 type.

Doing a quick search found these for £1.50 for 10 free postage.

These are the bulbs which also fit the front side light and number plate lights.

I'm having blue lights fitted inside my car, can I use blue lights for the courtesy light as well? Or it has to be the standard white?

You can use whatever colour you like so long as the bulb is available in that colour.
