I find videod noises extremely difficult to diagnose. You have no sense of where the noise is coming from, and the mic just seems to scramble everything together into a cacaphony.jnin wrote:I am attaching a video of the engine noise. you can hear it better when you are inside the car
Sorry, I can't make out anything from that. Where does the sound seem to some from, top/bottom/left/right/front/back?
Cheers Col.

Re: Peugeot 206cc 1.6L 2004 engine shakes
It comes from the engine. If you increase the volume you will hear it better. Its that loud ticking noise. I can't make out if it comes from left or right.I have another video with the bonnet up but its worse as you hear the injector noise. I dont know how else to get a video. Any ideas?Capncol wrote:I find videod noises extremely difficult to diagnose. Re: Peugeot 206cc 1.6L 2004 engine shakes
If you hold a piece of plastic tubing to your ear, you can use the other end as a stethascope and should be able to pinpoint the source of the noise better.
I have listened to your vid several times and I can't tell anything from it. Someone once told me it is something to do with the compression of the video?? To me it just sounds like a load of jumbled noises with nothing really standing out. There is no substitute for hearing it with your own ear. Sorry

Sorry that I wasn't much of a help...I guess I will start with the compression test as it is the most critical and continue with coils, injectors etc...Capncol wrote:If you hold a piece of plastic tubing to your ear, you can use the other end as a stethascope and should be able to pinpoint the source of the noise better.

I can hear the noise but everyones ear is different...I will try again and get clip and also check the compression which is the major concern for me

Re: Peugeot 206cc 1.6L 2004 engine shakes
You have got the Lexia cables? PP2000 on it's own doesn't work.
I downloaded my software via a thread on peugeotforums.com .. at least I had some confidence then that the s/w wasn't full of viruses (unlike the s/w that came with my lexia cables from aliexpress ...)
As your car is 2004 it SHOULD work with a standard EOBD compatible diagnostic code reader.

Yes I got it from Allied Express and the DVD was full of viruses too! For more than a week I am downloading different versions and installing/uninstalling on different operating systems with no luck!gazza82 wrote:You have got the Lexia cables? PP2000 on it's own doesn't work.
