help needed from any 206cc owner with multimeter or pp2000

Post by jeromecqy »

i suspect my car to have overvoltage problem

so anyone with a multimeter can help by checking the VOLTAGE TO REAR ABS SENSOR WHEN ENGINE STARTED AND WHEN NOT STARTED

and if you have pp2000 also check the VOLTAGE TO ABS ECU CONTROL UNIT UNDER ABS ECU

thanks in advance.

Your location would help to know if someone is nearby. You could try running with the alternator leads disconnected and insulated to prove or disprove your over voltage theory.

Judging by the lamposts and palm trees in the street in the video id say australia or hong kong?

How can it have an over voltage problem when its not running unless the battery is failing possibly?

Im guessing the beep you can hear when the engine is started the screen is showing abs fault

I watched the other 206 video you put up too its giving same error with the fuel guage shooting up with the voltage as all the fuel guage does is increase with voltage.

First thing to try is starting the car and disconnecting the battery + temporarily, wrap a towel round it and check the voltages, then reconnect it and unplug the alternator then start the car again and let it run off the battery while you check voltages again

Don't Disconnect the battery with the engine running. You are likely to spike the ECU or blow the alternator reg.
Disconnecting the alternator and then starting the engine is OK.

I'm actually from Malaysia

Battery is fine and the alternator is actually new but the problem happen before the change of the alternator

i have tried both removing the battery while engine is running and also removing the alternator and start the car but it didn't work out.I still have ABS fault And Braking Fault showing in the screen

i have already ask a lot of website but no one can really answer this problem, it's kinda odd when you say that the ABS system works when the engine is not running and fails once you start the engine

i have a dedicated thread on ABS not working
