Abs and fuel gauge not working when engine running
wonder if anyone can help me with my Peugeot 206
to keep it simple
I have an old peugeot 206 1.4, now fitted with a 1.6 engine from 206cc, fitted with new axle too
now i am having abs problem
Rear right and left coherence, live data shows 0 kph when driving(engine starting) and shows exact speed when car is not started(Ignition On)
Problem would happen when car is started
What i have done:
- Check wire Harness-OK( Good from abs sensor to abs pump)
- Change New ABS Sensors -DONE
- reluctor Ring- Checked( looks New)
- Connect Rear ABS sensor to front wiring:result :no signal
- Connect Front ABS sensor to Rear wiring:result: measures front sensor speed just fine
BTW front and rear sensor are different
The thing about the fuel gauge is that when i hook up with pp2000 and observe the FUEL LEVEL MEASURED, it spikes up for 15 liter when ever i start the car EXAMPLE: when ignition is on the fuel level measure show 5 liter and when the car is started it shows 20 liter causing my fuel level display to show incorrect levels.
My thought is over voltage but i think it could be that
What are your thought and suggestion for me to do?
thanks in advance.

Re: Abs and fuel gauge not working when engine running
Which ecu are you using? 1,4 or 1.6?
Also try askung on 206info.co.uk as they have more experience of conversions as we dion't even have the 1.4 engine in the CC.

ALL ECU BSI has been switched to the new 1.6 engine's(donor)
and both car are multiplexed -Donor (year 2003 206cc)
- Original( Year 2006 206)
if you have any suggestion please tell me thanks
i will answer all your question
My car is almost same with 206CC now as it takes in all 206cc items and have an 1.6 Engine

1. You need to answer capncol's question
2. Give 206info a chance to respond ...

i already reply that both donor and original are multiplexed vehicles so both are late abs system then.gazza82 wrote:1. You need to answer capncol's question

Re: Abs and fuel gauge not working when engine running
Can you confirm 206CC was mux? Just had a thought that even though it was 2003 registered, could it have been built as early 2002 and pre-mux? Did you see actual car engine came from?
Have you always had this problem since engine & other parts were swapped?

Re: Abs and fuel gauge not working when engine running
I'm sorry but I can't help. I haven't come across anything like that before.
If I had it as a job, I would start by checking the wiring from the rear forward in case it got damaged with the engine change (affected components are towards the back)
Please let us know the outcome.

Re: Abs and fuel gauge not working when engine running
I think jeromecqy may be in uncharted territory here ...
My only thought is could the '03 1.6 ECU from the CC be incompatible with the '06 1.4 Hatchback BSI unit?
It's not really something a CC owner would come across which is why I suggested 206info .. but they don't seem to have any info either yet.

Re: Abs and fuel gauge not working when engine running
That thought had crossed my mind, but why act up when engine running? Very strange.
Right!! I'm back off to workshop to finish pulling head off a Polo.

Re: Abs and fuel gauge not working when engine running
i haven't get any suggestion on what to do , because i have done or check what you guys suggested before
Gazza82- the 1.6 ECU is fitted together with the 1.6 BSI which came with the car so, no issues there
Capncol- wiring harness has been check and written on first post "Check wire Harness-OK( Good from abs sensor to abs pump)" upon reaching abs pump i find it rather hard to check the wiring from abs pump to the other components. but if wiring is a problem , then the sensors wouldn't even read when ignition is on , so i reckon that it is not a wiring problem.
