Good morning
I have been lurking on the forum since I bought my 206cc on Monday (and had rain ever since in deepest darkest essex)
This morning on starting the car I had Passenger Airbag Fault show on the console. By the time i had driven the 5 miles to work and looked at the start up proceedure again the fault had cleared.
Ive read a few posts on here that say the airbag electrics are quite close to the ground, so is it likely that this was just caused by the wet weather. Car was parked overnight on a gravel drive.
Is there any water resistant sprays, or something that helps prevent the fault?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Intermittent Airbag Fault
How old is the car battery? A battery nearing the end of its life will throw up spurious warnings and faults.

Re: Intermittent Airbag Fault
Thanks for replying. Ive been away from home for a couple of weeks. Had thd car out today, faults across both airbags showed up, no rain around. Seemingly the battery is quite old and a couple of weeks of sitting caused enough of a drain to weaken it. I am looking to replace it this week. Any recommendations? Normally as cars age they so to hold for a more juicy battery.

I used an Exide EA530. We have an 05 plate 1.6 Allure.

Follow the correct disconnection/reconnection procedure, there is a link in that thread.

Re: Intermittent Airbag Fault
CC needs the taller battery ... make sure the dimensions match GrandadM's spec.

Re: Intermittent Airbag Fault
Cheers, all done. Only fault that remains is the Auto Lighting Fault which has the 10 sec fix but I still keep getting the message.
