Diagnostic software faults

Anyone else with the new multiplex spec had problems with erroneous error messages and alarms. I now have two full pages of A4 logging each time I get a weird (and false) error light or cryptic message on the display. My two particular favourites are when I am advised I have no engine oil (this is on a month old car) and the bizarre 'antipollution fault' which even though I have the corrrect manual , isn't even mentioned. Apart from this I've had problems with the 'STOP' light, autolights, various unexplained audible alarms etc etc (full list available on request). First visit to Peugeot they put it on the diagnostic machine and said there were some settings wrong ... had it back .. all the same problems. They now think it's a problem with the computer which they will replace - still waiting for date when the part will arrive. In the meantime I have to assume that every error message is a false one ..

Hmmmm... So why do some people want to change their existing "Old" CC's for the Multiplexed ones?
Maybe you will be gaining more/new problems
Unfortunately the Master Tech at the local dealer has nothing good to say about any of the Multiplexed models... 206/307/406.... Doh..

Unfortunately the Master Tech at the local dealer has nothing good to say about any of the Multiplexed models... 206/307/406.... Doh..

Yeah i agree with rob, i was well peeved off when my car was the old spec, (Iprobably was the last one to get a old spec) but now it seems like the new spec is just as bad.

the new spec cars probably have just as many faults as the initial spec cars. but for people like me who ordered before the new spec was released and had it built afterwards and got auto lights, auto wipers, info display, extra 2 speakers, cd upgrade etc.. for nothing won't be too upset

Speaking for the new specs I'd say that these have been already used on 307s.
I'm sure you all know that but let me tell you a story briefly.
A friend of mine ordered one (307) without peugeot's car alarm. He didn't bother for that so when the car arrived he asked his dealer to put one (other than peugeot's as he found out later). Then pandora's box just opened. Dealer installed the "x" alarm but he didn't sealed the wires properly so as to be waterproof. Then the rain came and the little evil water drops short the BSI unit (that cute electronic controller). Well I don't want to mention the consequences which you are all aware of.
I'd say that sometimes new tech doesn't make life easier, but harder...

About the "Antipollution fault" : It occured also to my display about 2 times. But i ve noticed that everething is ok if you don't
start the engine immediately, but wait for about 2 secs, until all the warning yellow lights (Airbag, ABS,oils, etc) are off !!!
This means that you must turn the key in the pre-last position, wait for 1/2 secs, and then turn on the engine.

i had the anti pollution fault everytime i started the 307 courtesy car and it was only 6 weeks old - didnt care, wasnt my car

I think mine has the multiplex. I got the "Anti Pollution Fault" message when starting the engine, again the fault is not listed in the manual and hasn't happened since, so I'm just turning a blind eye until and unless it happens again. Could it have anything to do with the catalytic converter?

I almost emptied my fuel tank today and the dah display gave a warning with a beep beep beep "LOW FUEL WARNING". I couldn't believe that it worked. I was just waiting for the 100km left in the tank per the display to rapidly countdown to zero, but it didn't. Seems some cares do what they're meant to!
