Number Plate Light-purchasing replacments

Post by hawnet »

I have read the other thread about replacing and potentially breaking the lens, i have one lens missing and the other lens is hanging out for some reason (i will find out later if it stops raining), so I want to replace them with new, i notice on e bay there are some LED ones for sale as a direct replacement! can this be true and believed or should I go for the OE stuff?

Personally not had much luck with ebay led items. Go oem. Check the dealer too ss they are oten cheaper ... Or find a pug dealer who sells on fleabay

Std fitting 7.99 on ebay (cant post link it wont let me)
Simply add a pair of LED bubs your self for a couple of quid or spend more for bulit led ones, cheapest I could find were 13.99....

I know which way I would go.

Just fitted LED bulbs to mine. I have to say what a bitch getting the covers off was. Even with the instructions from this site...
But got much better lights now.

Hi,
I bought LED ones off EBay for under a tenner a pair.
Destroyed the lens on the old ones getting them out, no problem as went in the bin!

New ones fitted easy and work great. No longer I have two yellow candles for number plate illumination. I have two nice spreads of white. Looks the dogs dangles.

They are solid-state, so should last life of car.
I can post a picture if anybody wants?

They are on EBay as:

2x NO ERROR LED LICENSE NUMBER PLATE LIGHT FOR PEUGEOT 206 CITROEN C3 C4 5 XSARA

Cheers,

I took the boot cover lining out to try and avoid that ... Still broke the old ones though!

DONE.

2 new units fitted, I popped the carpet trim poppers and undone the handle and then unclipped the wire connectors and forced the old ones out then replaced them with new. They dont fit all that well but I finally managed to keep both ends clipped in..the gasket got caught and was making it difficult to get the 2 clips firmly fitted, but its all good now.

Cheers for all the help guys XX
