Window action with door opening

Post by IanL »

My User Manual/Handbook (2005 model) says (Page64):

"In order to make it easier to open the doors, the window lowers automatically by a few centimeters.

It rises and adjusts automatically when the door is closed to provide perfect sealing"

My new-to-me 206CC does not do this. Just wondering if anyone else's does, or is the book wrong?

Pg 64 of our manual is about isofix mountings. http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/downloads ... df#page=65
I have never seen this feature on these cars. Ours is an '06 and doesn't do it.
Cheers Col.

I've never seen any CC do that! And I looked at several before we bought "Kermit"!

I think someone wrote the handbook before the spec was completed .. then they dumped the idea as a cost-saving exercise.

Not unusual for car manufacturers .. they produce specs that aren't quite the same when the car is delivered .. and there is always a get-out clause somewhere like E&OE ... My Alfa 75 was "sold" with electric rear windows in the brochure .. I got winders!

Seen it on some cars. You cannot open the door quick as you have to wait for it to drop as you pull the handle.

Thanks for all your replies - I'll stop worrying about it. I've found my driver's door window is set too high, and I have to slam the door very hard to get it to close. Let the window down a cm and it's no problem. I've found the procedure for adjusting the window height in the Service Box, so I'll give that a go.

If anyone is interested, the bit about auto movement of window with door opening and closing appears in the Handbook issues covering cars from 11/04 to 3/06, but not in earlier or later issues.

See the INFOTEC site. Can't post the url.
