Indicator flashes 4 times then cancels and flashes

Hi

I have an odd problem with my indicators, if I don't have any lights on (doesn't happen if I have side lights or main on) then sometimes not always my indicators cancel after 4 flashes (always 4) and the headlights come on, if I touch the stalk slightly the headlights go off and the indicators come back on. Has anyone else come across this? My fix at the moment is to drive around with my sidelights on all the time, which isn't really a problem but it is a slight annoyance and it worries me that if I forget to put my sidelights on and it happens someone will think I am flashing them out at a junction. I've tried a bit of contact cleaner and had the covers off which just show me that the stalks assembly is one that goes all the way round to both stalks and therefore I can't see anyway to service.

Any help/suggestions would be most welcome.

Hi David. The com2000 unit has failed (these are common symtoms) You can search the forum for "comm2000" for more details.

Sometimes I have noticed my indicators stop flashing but not noticed lights. I just give the stalk a nudge as I think it is a dry connection.
