Roof not working after being up for the winter

Post by sarsmb »

Morning all!

I've been looking through all the posts and haven't found any solutions.

I have a 52 206cc and the roof has always been fine, a new relay button was fitted in April last year when I bought the car. I haven't had it down since winter and with the lovely weather we have this week, decided to put it down yesterday lunch time. Pulled the blind across, started the engine, undid the roof levers and got the bong, go to put it down and the little musical beeps come on as if something isn't correct. I've moved the little white u things in the boot back and forth, I've fiddled with the metal blind sensor as suggested, tried with the windows down and the windows up but still can't get it to work :(

Can anyone suggest anything else???

Thank you!!

These roofs really need to be cycled often (including winter) to stop things sticking. You have probably got a sticky microswitch.

Use the search facility at the top and search "microswitches" There is reams and reams of info.
