Quickshift Gear Linkage

M275 has got this mod done to his cc what is it? what does it do? how much is it? and where can i buy it?

I don't know about the one that M275 got but the one that I got can be found from the following site.

What it is is a piece of metal plate which fits between the gear linkage before it goes into the gear box. What it does in effect is lenghten the stoke of the linkage and so you don't have to move the gear stick as much as before. I fitted the thing myself by jacking up the car and putting in on axle stands. It's pretty hard to get to cause it's in a tight area and there's not much room to play with but it can be done. Just remember to let the exhaust cool down first cause your arm goes right next to it. You need to lever the original linkage off the ball-joint and after a lot of struggling the easiest way to do this is pop a 10mm spanner head around the ball joint and lever the whole thing up and it pops right off. Now attach the quickshift to this and pop the linkage on the other side of it. Hey presto, you can now do gear changes as fast as Mr Schumacher!!

It's really noticable and much nicer than the original set up. If only Peugeot could have done it themselves in the first place.

Yeah thats it - it shortens the distance you have bto move the gear stick to change gear...

Makes shirting up .... erm.... quicker.

Wasnt too expensive and works really well..

I had mine fitted so am not sure where it fits or how hard it is to fit

Well I was lucky in that I had a mechanic friend who oversaw me fitting it. It's a bit daunting at first, after all you have to dismantle a bit off before the whole thing comes back together, but in the end it really wasn't that difficult. The instructions (if you can call it that) was pretty self explanitary.

M275 is yours the same make as mvoongs? now that ive ordered one i suppose thats a little late to ask .i think ill get it fitted dont trust myself to take on that job . do you really notice much difference than before?

can it be taken off if selling the car?

Yes it can be easily taken off when you want to sell on your car and yes there is a VERY noticable difference.

it sounds like the same one .

Cant really say as i diddnt take much notice of the one that was fitted to my car.

Just know the difference before and after.
