Hey there from extra hot Mozambique !!!
I imported a 206cc 2.0l from Japan and I am absolutely in love with it, that is if you take out of the equation I still haven't been able to drive it. (will post vin and engine numbers if needed).
Car came without working, with the Engine Immobiliser Fault on, I replaced the battery and still nothing. Then I took it to the dealer and after arround 350 USD (that is about 10 usd for the code that comes from france via DHL and 6 hours labor to code the keys) I had the car running.
When they recoded the car they told me that the car could have never been driven as both keys didn't have the sensor (for the immobilizer on it). As I opened one of them I could accept I dropped it (even though I was extra carefull) but the second key has no remote so I didn't even bother to open it. The mechanic was nice enough to fit his sensors on the keys for a "small" extra fee!!!
The car was previously opening the roof, and when I picked it up it still was.
The STOP light was on, there is central lock but the remote won't work the hand brake light was on, the airbag light sensor is on, the ABS light is on (it looks like a christmas tree).
Now (1 day later) the roof won't open, I unlock the manual locks and when I try the button it just makes a beeping/music sound.
Oh... to add to it the car came with a Mini disc player branded Peugeot/Sony that does not respond to the extra lever on the steering wheel, nor tunes into radio. It says AUX but I can't seem to find its entry, any help here as I don't wan't to unassemble it completely ?!
There is a small plug under the dash, close to the BSI that is not plugged (nor do I see where to plug it) and 2 plugs behind the battery in the same condition.
I had the car removed from the dealer as soon as they told me it was working as they are famous for stealing parts and overcharging (6hours labor to reprogram 2 keys).
I Tried resetting the BSI as suggested here, and I tried reprogramming the remote. Still no luck.
Is there any one thing that can be the cause of all these problems ?!
I understand the battery is a main issue, I bought mine but never took the time to measure it, I don't have many options on the market, I just made sure it was at least as big (in Amp) as the one he had in it when it came !!!
The reading on the battery is arround 12.4V when stopped and 14.4 when working if I'm not mistaken.
Any other detail needed to get some help ?
Thanks in advance !!!
Luís

Re: Multiple Electric faults
I just checked and I'm using a 50Ah battery (628Ce), since I can't find a 190mm tall one, can I use a 176mm one ?
I just checked some feeds here and I think the correct would be a 63Ah right ?!
Any help please ?!?!

Re: Multiple Electric faults
You should be ok with a shorter battery Luis but you will need to put a block of 15mm thick plywood (or similar) under it to raise the terminals to the correct height. Otherwise there will be undue strain on the connections. This would cause connectivity problems.
Be careful to use the correct disconnection and reconnection procedures:-

Re: Multiple Electric faults
Been following those procedures (awesome tip) for connecting and disconnecting as well as the ones for the BSI reset!!!
But now I can't find anyone open today, just wanted to know if you think all my problems could be related to the fact that the battery was smaller (50ah) then the one you recommend on the forum (63ah). And a quick confirmation that a 63ah is what people with 2.0 206cc have been using successfully !
Thanks for the reply Grandad Monkey (Ron ?) !!!

Re: Multiple Electric faults
Ok, so I went back and got a 62Ah battery which is the closest I can get to a 63 here (the other option would be a 66 and it doesn't fit in the car).
The faults are still there.
I have:
airbag fault
Brake Fault (the hand brake light stays on paired with the ABS light)
No oil temperature (it doesn't move, but then again maybe it is because the car is just not beeing runned, but at 33ºC outside I think it would have at least some movement, it doesn't even pop to the start of the meter).
The STOP constantly beeping
The roof when I try to open gives me some sounds and doesn't work (it was previously working)
No central lock (I tried the procedure to resync it with no success).
Anyone can help me out here ?

Something like this:
http://www.tayna.co.uk/027-Enduroline-C ... P8400.html
If the battery is new or in as new condition then the capacity (Ah) is not going to be critical. It certainly wouldn't cause all the symptoms you are describing. Sounds more like connectivity problems (earth, leads, terminal connectors) unless you really do have a multitude of individual faults that will need sorting out one by one.
Did you get a 175mm tall battery and put a 15mm block under it to pack it up?

Re: Multiple Electric faults
ABS Brake warning and speedo are all probably linked to a wheel speed sensor. Stop beeping may be linked to either brakes or temp. At this stage I would get it on diagnostics and post fault codes here. You will need a pro scanner that can read Body and Chassis faults as well as PCM, so no cheapy scanners from ebay!
Cheers Col.
