Cut a long story short about 6 months I damaged my key fob so have only being using the key itself to open & close the car. So I finally got around to changing the fob & can now use it as normal but the issue is now when I try to start the car it comes up on the dashboard saying immobiliser failure.
Is this going to be a case of having to take it to a local garage?
Thanks

Re: car immobiliser issue
I thought It was only the plastic case that was damaged so only changed that but this is when I noticed the microswitch which is pressed to unlock the car was also missing so to open it I had to use the end of a key to press down on it to unlock it.

In the case is a small block in one corner ... That's the chip. The switch is for the central locking.
