Oh Halfords .. wish I had a quid for every time I read about them on a forum ... :censored:

Very simply you should have two feeds to the radio .. one is permanent live and one controlled by the ignition. The radio should have come with an adapter which allows you to switch the two feeds: one yellow, one red .. don't go faffing around with feeds to the lighter ... it's totally unnecessary.

What make of after-market radio did you get? It might help us track down the right connections. I fitted a Sony to our 2001 CC and it was a piece of cake ...
