Hi,
My very beloved Peugeot (Ajani), was working fine this afternoon. I was trying to leave again this evening when everything just went wrong. When I leave the car, I ensure that all the car electronics are turned off. I put the key in the ignition, and turned it. When I did so, the stereo came on full volume, beeping. The dims turned on by themselves, as did the wipers (on full power). The cab light wouldn't turn on. All the lights on the dash lit up. The heating came on at full blast also, and the engine won't start. He was only in the shop to be fixed a couple weeks ago and nothing indicated an issue then.
Now, where I am is suffering some pretty heavy rains today, but in the last two years I've had him, that hasn't been an issue before but I thought I should mention it just in case.
Also - I apologise if I started a new thread which relates to another, open one. It's just that I'm not very mechanical and didn't notice anything that sounded like my issue.
Help! All electronics malfunctioning and won't start!

OK your year car is known as a *plexed* model (full BSI)
Do you think water entered the interior, possibly drivers side dashboard area or interior light?
Make sure interior is dry (run a fanheater in drivers footwell if need be) then try doing a BSI restart (details at the top of electrical forums)
Let us know how you get on as we can try other things

I would suspect that the previous owner went for cheapness and tried to save money by fitting the smaller, shorter battery intended for the 206 hatchback. The correct battery for the 206cc is 190mm tall, as opposed to the 175mm tall hatchback one. Fitting the shorter one puts a strain on the terminals and causes connectivity issues. The breaks in continuity would create the symptoms you describe.

Just to back Ron up on this the correct after market battery (having just had battery issues) is a 207, H 190 x W 175 x D 242, 540 amps.GrandadMonkey wrote:I would suspect that the previous owner went for cheapness and tried to save money by fitting the smaller, shorter battery intended for the 206 hatchback.
