Hi guys
I have a peugeot 1.1 petrol 206, 2002 model, I know its not a CC but its pretty much the same except the power and how sluggish it is!
It has recently started misfiring etc, means the ignition coil isnt working properly its only working on 3 cylinders.
I have bought a replacement ignition coil, I am going to swap it over instead of taking it to a mechanics, seems like an easy job and not worth the money sending it off for a relatively simple thing! Which is all fine except I have no clue what wrench I will need!!
I went into Halfords and asked them they seem to be inclined to think its a 13.5 wrench?
Does anyone know what exact wrench size I will need to unscrew the two screws to the ignition coil, ill post a picture for reference, its a 2002 Peugeot 206.
Many thanks in advance, would be a great help!
Peugeot 206 wrench, help please!

You should have asked them to find you one .... There is no such thing. :-( That's the problem with Halfords .. Useless and overpriced.
For us to recommend something is difficult as the 1.1 has a different coilpack to our engines ... there are actually a lot of differences between 206s. I'd think 12mm or 13mm but can't be sure. Try asking on 206info.co.uk

Get yourself a basic set of combination spanners ... Open and Ring ends ... Including 10,11,12,13,14mm and most basic jobs are sorted. Try B&Q, Wickes, Screwfix. They do some cheap spanners sets now. No idea on the quality but you aren't building the Forth Road Bridge. Or Amazon, justoffbase and tooled-up web sites.
Once you get more confident a 3/8" drive socket set is useful (I have a cheap Draper kit that compliments my main 1/2" sets I've built up over many, many years). Then just buy the special tools as needed ...

Their tools I have found are good quality. Everything else is overpriced and I would never ask a sales assistant for advice, nor Kwik fit.gazza82 wrote:You should have asked them to find you one .... There is no such thing. :-( That's the problem with Halfords .. Useless and overpriced.

Surely if the coil was at fault then all cylinders would be misfiring or is it a separate circuit for each plug.

Usually 1 or 2 cyls misfire. A coil pack (as opposed to COP - individual coils) usually have 2 coils (one coil does 2 cylinders)tenpole wrote:Surely if the coil was at fault then all cylinders would be misfiring or is it a separate circuit for each plug.

So do Snap-on with a long enough scaffold pole on the end of one.
