Its been fun week. With its highs and lows.. Thought about cutting my losses with he car when the bills started to mount up for work I had to do. But once I managed to get the parts cheap, things are looking up.
Anyway I got my 206cc when my Megane died in a puff of smoke (well a lot of smoke) so traded it in together with £400 and got his little green machine.

Got £95 knocked off as the wing mirror was busted. It was a nice sunny day so the dealer did bend me over a barrel as I needed a car ASAP. None the less we've had some good days and the roof has been down. It is probably the only part of the car that has no issues..
As I said the mirror was knackered and looked like this:

Out side my mums: (She thought I had gone made when I turned up with this)

So after hunting on eBay it became this: (I have changed the cap to the original green one)

Then I decided to de-badge the car. So it went from this:

To this:

Now I was left with a faint out-line of the lion on the boot. My first idea (and way out of my depth) was to find someone who could re-paint the loin on the boot (like you get in those custom paint jobs) and make it look 3D but that would cost too much. So my next idea was to use some thing like plastic-dip.
Bought this: (The stuff sticks so if you do try it make sure its very well ventilated)

To spray this:

It will take a few cost (they recommend 5 to 6)
Here is some info on the door - Tried to look it up online but the paint code is not listed

Next on the list is to sort out the rear axle. Bought recon one from imaxles.co.uk for £240 with delivery and the will also pay to have my old one shipped back to them.
Bought some 15" sirocco wheels and will get them refurbished. Not sure if I should re-do them in silver so they look original like these (these are not mine, mine have slight curbing)

Or to spray them black, or a gun metal grey. Or try something like this: (but use the green from my car)

Other things are to fit a double din adaptor to where the mfd is s I can use my Pioneer SPH-DA02 head unit with satnav/bluetooth and relocate the mfd to where the stereo used to be, and get the door lock/hazard button relocated to behind the ashtray. The head unit comes with a built in GPS receiver. I have managed to get one of these from a breakers and my plan is to replace the square light with the GPS receiver as it fits nicely inside it. But will have to see if it can get a signal

I have also managed to lay my hands on a wired mesh grille for the lower part of the bumper, and also 2 wire mesh grilles to go either side of the bonnet logo. I wanted to get a de-badge grille and found this which is really cheap till they hit me with shipping which was 3 times the value of the grille. But I'm sure one will turn up soon on eBay.
Also need to sort out why I can't get any radio stations. I also need to recondition the leather seats, find a wind-breaker, get a good service done on it (will get work to do this), do the cam belt and water pump as car is at 164k, fix the other problems (drop links, headlights etc) and the car will be perfect.
Will keep updating this as and when I can but let me know what you think!!
Thanks for taking the time to read this long winded post...
