Exhaust rattle
The exhaust rattles at 1900/2000 revs and is very annoying. Looking underneath the car, the long exhaust pipe is not supported by very many attachments. I could probably fix it with some stiff wire, but are there any mods/accessories to fix this little nag?

Re: Exhaust rattle
If it's rattling check it's not the exhaust heat shields, the cat has not broken up, or the exhaust is simply badly positioned. It shouldn't need additional support unless the ones there are broken, weak or missing.

Thanks Gazza.
There are two rubber supports near the box and no supports appear to be missing. It just resonates at a certain engine speed

Re: Exhaust rattle
I had this problem when I bought my car, I suspected a heatshield, but alas it was the cat. My rattle used to appear at about 2500 rpm, but used to improve as the exhaust system heated up. I paid £155 for a new cat to be fitted and the problem went away.

Re: Exhaust rattle
I paid around £200 for the whole exhaust from manifold back!! Early cars don't need the full type-approved Cats so you can get cheaper ones that do the same job for a lot less.
