Hi guys
I'm gonna replace the rear axle on my cc as the wheel is starting to lean over and is making a lot if noise.
There are a few on eBay and been quoted £130 to fit by a garage or £50 by back street garage.
But I've been offered a 206gti rear axle at a cheap price if £120. Car has done 56k before the owner blew the turbo and then blew the engine
Would this fit my cc or does it have to be one of the same year and model as mine?
Thanks
Rick
Replacing rear axle beam. Does it has to come off cc?

It is probably the same but some have ABS, some don't. The hatchback version may also have a load sensor which the CC may or may not have (or need).
Are you sure it's not just the wheel bearing?

The Station Wagon one is different. You can use any cc or H/Back if you change over the hubs, brakes etc:
GTI has the same rear discs, most hatches have drums. 2002 the ABS was changed from relucter rings to magnetic pickups and are not interchangeable, so if your car is late model and the GTI early, you would have to change your hubs onto new beam. None of it is difficult though.
