My drivers mirror is broken so I'm ordering one off eBay
But I have seen a number of auctions where the seller state that the mirror has either a black or white or brown or orange or red plugs.
I know I can't use a normal 206 wing mirror, but I was wondering if I was to get one from a breakers could I Frankenstein one together?
Any reason why they are different colours? do your all have the same connector or should I play it safe and get a white plug like the one that has been damaged on my car.
Thanks
Rick

Thanks for the link. But may give it a miss. But it doesn't say why there are different coloured plugs. Mine are white. But would a mirror with a brown plug fit?

CCs and hatchback mirror fittings should be same... But there are different types with varying features plus two very different and incompatible wiring systems. So matching plug colours are probably important if you want them to work properly.

Agreed. Match the colours of the plugs, and the rest should "Frankenstein" (as you amusingly put it - I might nick that one!) nicely.

Neil (Enright):
Apologiies for bothering you but I don't suppose you still have those innards/bits for a 206 climate control system?
Our dear ole gal [2002, 200k miles blesser] has climate control on which all the lights/symbols show up & respond to manual finger-pushing BUT the blower refuses to do anything [just the wrong time of year too] & knowing those dear people at BB Reman can help, but if they do it'll double the value of our car, I'm sitting here [Shropshire] crossing my fingers.....
Look fwd to hearing back from you.

I understand there is some difference, but it is possible to graft a hatchback pivoting part (the part which usually gets broken) to a CC fixed part, with a bit of metal-working. I saw a post somewhere describing the process, but I can't find it again.gazza82 wrote:CCs and hatchback mirror fittings should be same....

When I got my wife her CC the drivers side mirror was broken, i.e. attached but internally the pivot broken so it rattled and bounced around - no good going down road as with vibration you can't see in it!
I stripped it down as far as I could get it to bits and then glued the broken parts back together with "chemical metal". Its a 2 part epoxy stuff by Loctite and has a breaking strength of 5,000psi or so it claims on the packaging. It's a chemical reaction so it goes off in about 5 mins and good to fit again.
We're 3 months is into ownership - plus one minor crash - and the thing is still solid as a rock!
