Automatic from 1st to 2nd
Hi has anyone had any problems with the 206 automatic changing from 1st to 2nd gear I've just purchased it and it's an 04. It just takes ages to change from 1st to 2nd and when it does the car jolts forward then seems ok. Has anyone experienced this or any advice?

Autos exhibit this characteristic when the hand brake is not released, so maybe you might have sticking front callipers, which once they release, continue to work fine. Does this happen every time you come out of 1st, or maybe only uphill, or perhaps only from cold?

I too have an auto problem, everyday start car drive approx 1 mile then 'clunk' message reads ' auto gear fault' the gears will then not change so you have to stop car turn off engine restart engine then it will be okay fo the rest of the day. Any suggestions

You need to get the gearbox fault codes, otherwise it's all guesswork.Holidaymaker wrote:I too have an auto problem, everyday start car drive approx 1 mile then 'clunk' message reads ' auto gear fault' the gears will then not change so you have to stop car turn off engine restart engine then it will be okay fo the rest of the day.
