Hi everyone, I've looked all over the internet for a solution to my problem and the answers on this forum look most useful so I wondered if somebody could please help me?
Firstly my car is a Peugeot 206 cc (2003) 1.6 and I'll start right at the beginning...
I've had an "ABS FAULT" warning light on my dashboard for a good year now but it hasn't really affected anything to do with my driving so I've never got it sorted. I've just had my MOT and the guy informed me that it's the pump that needs replacing and will be a good few hundred quid and because I'm selling it I thought I'd knock it off the price and inform the buyer instead rather than getting it fixed.
For several weeks I've had the boot sensor warning light come up on my dashboard whilst driving indicating that the boot is open however it's not.
I went to take the roof down the other day and it will not work. It wouldn't beep or anything. The blind was across and all the necessary actions were taken to try and remove the roof but it's doing absolutely nothing.
My brother in Law then took it to his Honda garage where he works to check the fuses and switches etc and he reported back that the handbrake switch, and the micro switches in the boot are all ok. They also removed the boot manually (which I didn't know you could do) and put it back on again.
When I got the car back it now continuously beeps whilst driving and doesn't stop until the car stops.
I've contacted the Peugeot dealership and they want £100 an hour and have said they might not necessarily find or be able to fix the fault. I could potentially end up paying for repairs that cost more than the car itself! I was in total shock at this response and have decided to try and figure this out myself (with your help hopefully)
Although my brother in law said the switches etc are ok I'm still willing to try anything and everything so if anybody has had a simliar situation to me then please can you help?
Lastly I'd like to apologise for adding one more post to the numerous "roof problem " posts but I just wanted to fully explain my situation.
If this fails then I may have to sell the car as it is which won't be worth much at all :-(
It only has 54000 miles on the clock too and is in great condition!
Kind regards
Amy

Where are you Amy - can you put your location in your profile? It may well require a "hands on" approach so it would be good to see if anyone is local who can help.

Hi amy. I think your problem lies with microswitch "F" or the associated lock mechanism.

Hi Col
Thanks so much for your reply.
So would you recommend I renew it ? And what do I ask for ... Is it a boot catch ?
Sorry (26 year old woman who hasn't got a clue about cars)
Your help is appreciated so thank you for taking the time to reply
