VIN on windscreen

Post by Yarnie »

Hi, I have just purchased a 206 HDI [not a cc], however, just wondered if anyone knows what the VIN image would look like on a 2005 model? Is it white background and black writing or blue background with black writing? Thanks

Not sure, but you could compare it to the one in the threshold of the boot to see if the numbers match if that's what you are worried about.

Thanks. Yes those numbers do match but when I googled VIN numbers it stated that it should have a white background, but mine has a blue one. Just wanted to know if I should be worried about it?

Welcome Welcome Welcome
Just been and checked my 206 hdi gti 2005 and it's black letters on a white background panel.

While I'm here, when you start the car up does your display Beep 3 times and show "unblock diesel filter" for a few seconds then revert to normal display, if I switch the "esp" program on and off it re-displays the "unblock diesel filter" then goes out?? I know that the "unblock diesel filter" refers to the DPF regeneration and not the fuel filter and the local garage has plugged in and reset everything but "unblock diesel filter" still remains or is it a dealer's job only? (got half a tank of Eloys) :? :?

You can regenerate it with a good pro code reader plugged in.
