can any one help !!! have a 2003 1.1 pug, the other day she was hard to start then after a few goes started but after a few miles lost power put foot right down on throttle and just crawled along, guess it went into limp mode. this cleared and ran ok for a couple of days ,then coming home doing about 30 mph just died.
the engine management light came on for a few mins the went off.
AA came out and towed it back and said he thought it might be fuel pump and went. next day i had a look can hear fuel pump ,have changed coil pack, plugs and crank sensor but wont start. have had peugeot planet plugged in and global test carried out all ok and no faults found .there is spark at plugs and fuel getting to the plugs as when I take them out they are wet. every thing works as it should. any ideas ???

Re: non starter
Hi & welcome.
Are the plugs wet with fuel or oil?
How many miles has it done?
When was it last serviced?
Has the cambelt been changed?
If the MIL light came on there should be faults stored. Was it genuine PP and did the person know how to use it?

That explain that then.justtheplumber wrote:the AA man said it had misfire and cleared the fault code
Have you tried codes since it has refused to start? If so and nothing stored, then it may be the plugs are just to wet to fire under compression. Try taking them out and heating the tips with a blowlamp to dry them out (I'm guessing by your user name you will have one)
Refit while still warm and try again.

Re: non starter
You can't rule it out but it's unlikely. What colour are the plugs? Black? Try again with the air filter out. It might have got soaked in the recent bad weather and restricting the intake
Cheers Col.
