wing mirror plugs help please

I bought a new wing mirror back in November from eBay I told the seller i had a 2004 (53) 1.6 206cc and he said it would definatly fit. So I finally got a chance to fit the mirror yesterday and the plugs are different! The plug in my car is orange/black (with 2 rows of 5 type) and the mirror I've bought is a white plug (3 rows of 3 type). Can I just cut the plug from my old mirror and match the wires from the new mirror (if that makes sense) or do I have to buy another with the correct plug now I know! Thanks in advance x

Which side is it for? the passenger wing mirror also houses the temperature sensor.

Also how many wires are there on the car plug and the mirror plug?
