Problem with Diesel peugeot, its driving me nuts
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this so please put me right if I foul up, I've got an x reg diesel peugeot 206 and i've got a rotten problem that has come about and I'm hoping for an easy fix, on starting from cold the car crawls at 20mph
, even when the temp reaches the normal level it carries on crawling for 5 mins then it picks up and returns to normal running, when starting from warm there is no problem, I'm assuming its a temp related problem, I ca'nt accept that its down to the time of year, has anyone got any idea where the problem may lie ? and what I can do to rectify this ?

... is it also smoking a lot? If it is smoking, and it's not just in need of a service, then a diesel additive may provide a quick cheap fix. I use Forte Diesel Treatment, add half to a full tank of fuel. It will clean your injectors and stop black sooty smoke on start up.

The fuel filters been changed recently, There's no excess smoke when starting or running, it just runs slow and the acceleration is lousy until the car has warmed up, I was wondering if there was a sensor problem of some sort or some other temp related problem, its driving me nuts (still)

Re: Problem with Diesel peugeot, its driving me nuts
Thought I had the problem solved, but obviously not !!!
, Its a standard 1.9 diesel, have changed the air filter again but no change, even if the car is left for a couple of hours it starts and runs ok, but from cold it takes ages to warm up and run ok, on the only 'warmish' day we've had it started and run a lot easier, this is why I think its temperature related, any help would be gratefully accepted, thank you

OK DW8 then.
Check the egr valve and temp sender. for starters. Temp sender is probably the easiest to check first. EGR is restricted until engine warms up, so EGR could be stuck or operating early.
