I bought one of the cheap £10 bluetooth ones from ebay. There is android software available to read the codes on your phone. It's handy for a quick job, or you can operate it through a laptop for more information. You have to know what you're doing with the information though as plugged into some vehicles (Ford) it does give a lot of information that may not be relevant to the fault you are looking to find answers for. 261195305416

Re: what diagnostic reader
just read one of your other posts so 2002. That should mean it's multiplex and EOBD.
The best diagnostic is PP2000 (free download from peugeotforums.com) but that runs on a laptop and the cables ain't cheap ... bought mine off aliexpress about 2 years ago for £65.
Pugs can be funny about diag systems ... not all read properly and can give some odd codes.
One thing to check will be the cat. If it starts to break up or collapse it strangles the revs and anti-pollution errors are normally related.

Re: what diagnostic reader
for the cables to work with pp2000 you need to search for LEXIA 3
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: what diagnostic reader
And expect to get ripped off on ebay ... most sellers buy them in off aliexpress and sell in for a fat profit.
register on peugeotforums to download PP2000 for free and ask if anyone is selling their lexia kit ...
