18" wheels what size tyres ?

Post by Davieb »

Hi guys ,
Just bought a 206cc ,
I'm thinking of changing the standard 16" wheels to 18" ,
Can anyone advise on the best tyre size for 18's
Cheers

Try the conversion tool on carbibles.com ... but given you are on 205/45R16 now expect to be on very, very low profiles on 18s. 215/35R18 rings a bell.

Painted on rubber might be thicker ;-)

Yes and the ride quality would be horrible.

Try the 16s for a while ... they are pretty harsh but handling is good with good tyres. Running ours on Hankook Evo V12 tyres which are around £90-100 a corner!

Our 1.6 Allure is on 15" wheels, 195/55R15 Continental Premium Contact tyres. Still on the original tyres after 30,000 miles (except for one replaced after a puncture). The replacement cost £92.

I suppose I drive sedately but we've never had any handling issues and the comfort is fine. Averages 42mpg overall.
