NEED HELP !

Post by KRONADOR »

Jump started my car with the wifes PUG, now the pug wont start from cold .
Does anyone have a Planet 2000 in Bristol they can scan the ecu with ?
Payment in beer or something !?
Ive searched the pp2000 map on the other pug forums , but no one seems to be in Bristol.

Any help would be great to avoid further ear bending from the unhappy other half....!

thank you !

Ok , tried that and its the same .
I tried it twice .
Im assuming its not supposed to beep or anything to let me know if its done it ?

Oddly it starts with easy start and once going is absolutely fine .
(Diesel 1.4hdi
Errhemmm....Not a 206 , but a 307 ; hence me just requesting pp2000 owners rather than hassling the 206 chaps . )

Battery alternator fine , only fault showing on a basic scanner was a bit of a low fuel pressure. No values . Again hence need for a better machine with some pp software on it .
Sounds like it could be fuel pump , but as its attached with water pump and cam , I don't particularly want £900 bill , so I want to be sure .

Local guy and and auto electrician has been all over and can't find anything . 2 minutes if turning over means I'm charging a battery every night .

Ah well you didn't say any of that did you? If you had given us the full details to start with we could have better tailored an answer for you.
FWIW I think PP will just give you same code and live data will give you the rail pressure (which will be below the threshold) Any good code reader with live data facility would give the same (Snapon/ Macscan /Launch etc:)

Some thing to try:-
Glow plug relay
Fuel pressure reg
injector leakdown test
HP pump
A diesel specialist could test all this for you without needing PP Probably cost you an hours labour.

Did you check on PeugeotForums for a PP2000 user? If they are still there, this is link to map ... https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid= ... 1b9c&msa=0 ... zoom in on map to Bristol.

thanks Gazza82/ capncol - I must have been looking at an old map as nearest was Basingstoke. Ive PM'd the guy/gal it came up with to see. No response as yet .
I think then its the Diesel specialists route afterwards.

Ive had the fuel filter replaced and it has some copper filing in it and not much diesel... my first thought was the tank pump, but im pretty sure it doesn't have one in this model. Is there a "how to" to check anywhere that you know of ?

I've got a 1.4hdi and there's a pump under the back seat. I can hear it when I switch ignition on. It's under a black plastic cover.

I think it has two pumps: one low pressure to pick up fuel then high pressure pump drive off engine to feed injectors. I'll double check my Haynes tomorrow ...

No response as yet .I'm about half an hour from Basingstoke, but trust me. You don't need PP for this, and it's a long way to come. Some people seem to think it's the be all and end all. It's only really necessary for PSA specific stuff, like coding radios, keys, roof etc: Std data is covered on most pro scanners. I have PP, but I rarely use it as my mac scan (Mac tools) does nearly everything, but then it was nearly £3.5K with all the leads and printer. See here for example
