I have just bought a 206CC with a few problems (very cheep) for the wife.
So far I have had lots of fun sorting the water leak (plastic inlet pipe to the rear of the engine) replaced the bonnet catch, rebuilt the broken mirror, reprogramed the key fob and fixed the roof (missing spring from the front latch wouldnt opperate the microswitch) as I enjoy working on cars.
Now I recon I could sell it for £1500 more than I paid for it (not bad for 2 days work) but to be honest I have started stealing her car as it is great (especially now we are having a heatwave). Might need to see if I can have a swap now.
Big thanks to everyone that contributes to the forum.

Re: Hello
Welcome to the forum Colin. If it has been neglected I guess you'll treat it to a full service too. Which model did you get?

Hi Everyone,
Just bought a 55 reg 1.6HDI Allure with genuine 33K on clock for my wife although I seem to be driving it most at moment. Brilliant fun. Bodywork nearly immaculate except for loose drivers door mirror that vibrates excessively. Any advice on mirror greatly appreciated.

Re: Hello
I got the 1.6 Allure model in black.
It had just been given a standard service (I have checked all the usual things myself) with new plugs, filter & oil.
just need to do a few more things for piece of mind then I can personalize it a little. The black looks good but needs a little contrast I think, Chrome is yesteryear so I am thinking of having the side trims wrapped with brushed aluminium and a new set of alloys to start it all off.

Re: Mirrors
Hi pugs,
The mirrors are really easy to work on if you are mechanically minded. The glass pops off with a little help from a screwdriver as it is a push fit but be careful of the wires as they tend to be heated. once the glass is removed you will be able to see the electric motors that are held in place with 3 screws. you should be able to see why the mirror vibrates at this stage. Mine had been broken by a vandal and needed the whole housing fixed in place as the plastics were badly broken this involved rebuilding it with metal plates drilled and tapped into the metal hinge.
Good luck!
