Hi gents,
New guy here.
I recently bought myself a 2004 206CC but it came with the regular climate control switches. Anyway, I was wondering whether I can buy a digital climate control module (ebay has them for cheap) and just replace the old one? Or it doesn't go that easy? Thanks in advance gents!

Re: Changing to digital climate control
It's not likely to be straightforward, but there is another thread on here started recently that suggested changing the matrix as well. I would imagine it would also need the BSI adjusted. The way the dials operate and wiring plugs would also be a major factor.
I take it your panel has the slider at the top to adjust the temp like the left one and you prefer the right one ...

Don't forget that there are two wiring systems on a 206 ... multiplex, which you probably have as they started in 2002 and pre-mix ... and the two systems don't mix. The easy way to check is the radio stalk on the column: if it's long and thin, it's pre-mix, if it's shorter and flatter, mux.

Re: Changing to digital climate control
Hi,
I wondered about this too when I was rebuilding my other half's 206CC, and got a complete module cheap.
When I say “complete module”, I mean heater matrix including all servos and sensors, control panel and blower motor (they are all different to the one with the standard panel as shown in Gazza's left-hand pic).
Then my other half said that she considered the digital panel to be too much of a faff and she preferred the pretty colours and simplicity of the standard Air-Con panel, so I never bothered fitting it.
You have to remember that Climate Control is a “closed loop” system (whereas A/C is “open loop” and the feedback system is YOU!), and it monitors the air temperature and then adjusts the blower speed and the outputs accordingly to maintain the desired setting. This is quite a complex thing to do when you consider the number of controls involved that have to be automated, and the fact that they all need to be replicated so that they can be manually over-ridden.
To fit it I know that the entire heater matrix would have to be removed and replaced, and that is a complete dash-out job, also requiring a coolant change and a/c re-gas. I’m not sure if it would require setting up in the vehicle preferences via Peugeot Planet too as is it is a self-contained system, but knowing Peugeot the answer is probably.
If you aren’t put off by any of this and still want to attempt it, then PM me as I can sell you the entire system cheaper than you could get all of the component parts on eBay.

Re: Changing to digital climate control
So was climate control an option? Just asking because our CC is a 2001 and have the digital system.
So choices were normal basic heating, manual A/C or climate?
