Full New Interior

Post by Badabingx »

Hi everybody!

Hope you are all well :)

I have an idea - I'm just not entirely sure if it is worth doing, hopefully it is!

The interior on my car is hideous - I have the old fabric seats, with a few tears etc and they smell a bit funny. The black dash is all sunbleached and looks more gray than black.

I want to rip the whole thing out and start again. New seats, door panels, dash at the window (btw, can someone tell me what the technical term is for this bit lol everytime I search dash the only results I get are for the speedo panel etc).

I know someone who has offered to do it for me if I get the parts. Any recommendations on where to go, what to get etc? I just want leather inside, not really fussed on the colour!

Thanks :)

Try ebay? Don't just look at the auctions, but also check out anyone breaking a CC and contact the seller to see what they have.

pug20gcc-spares on ebay break 206s and may have some bits you need.

"dash at the window" ... what are you looking at? The centre unit or the dash over the speedo cluster?

You need to make sure the new seats are the same spec as old ones and plugs for airbags / pretensioners the same. If not, if will put the airbag light on (MOT failure)

I did that. Found someone funnily enough about 2 miles away from me selling black leather seats and door panels for £120! Its used obviously, and the leather is cracked on the bum of the drivers seat, but I figure you wont see that when I'm driving it. Its a lot lot better than my fabric seats anyway.

I've contacted him to ask if it would be suitable for my car, mines is a 56 plate sport model, and these seats are coming out of a 2003 model.

I think I'm meaning the centre unit. Its all sunbleached and horrible looking. I dont know if there's even some sort of polish or anything you can get for it. Its pretty hard to explain, I'll take some pictures later on and post them.

But my new cd player came in for it last night and I love it haha dying to try it out but I'm not putting anything in it until its all clean and looking good!

Aw the guy selling the seats I was looking at has about as much of a clue as I do haha! I asked him if the seats were compatible with a 2006 sport model, he said he doesnt know, so I asked him what exact model and he replied 2003 206cc GTI.

Aw I need to look into this a bit more lol

Hello all - I'm new to the 206 cc, I've just bought a 2004 one with worn fabric interior - snap!
So I have a similar problem, I am quite happy to rip it all out and re-fit with a leather or a fabric interior - but the seat airbags obviously cause issues.
I saw a set on ebay from a 2003, the airbags look the same, I have not looked at the plugs on my car yet.
Do the actual electrical parts differ? Can I get any seat with an airbag and chop the plugs off and join the wires using different plugs and sockets?
If anyone can give me the dates of the seat type changes it might help when I am making inquiries, because i can imagine the same response as Badabingx has had when he asked.
Oh, Badabingx - perhaps that set would fit my car???

Oh, it seems I am failing as a new member and need to add the bit at the bottom of my posts saying what super vehicles I own.
Ferrari, 2 porsche.
Or more precisely the 206 cc (wife's), Mazda Estate for all the rubbish I seem to take to the tip every week and so the dogs can spread out, and my toy: Suzuki XN85 Turbo (a rare 1980 650cc bike).

To both - at least try to aim for the same model year and you should be OK.
Badabingx, don't go older than 05 plate or you'll have the issues that Capncol mentioned.
Notxn85, don't go newer than 04. I'm not sure how old you can go but would say 2002 would be pushing it for compatibility.
