Wiper blades

Need some new ones. Recommendations anyone?

I bought mine from the main dealer. A trifle expensive but they fit perfectly. The car is 8 years old and I've only had to renew them the once, they are such good quality and we only do a low mileage. There are plenty advertised on Amazon but they don't look to me like the genuine article nor, in most instances, are there two blades of differing lengths as there should be.

A trick I use, as the spring that holds the wipers down to the screen is so strong, is to lift the wipers off the screen when the car is in its garage not being used. This saves the wiper blades becoming distorted and making a "scraunching" noise. This is what happened to the original wiper blades, they were not worn out, just made a heck of a racket and vibrated in use. I appreciate that anyone who does not garage their car overnight isn't going to be able to do this.

I've never regretted my decision to buy the genuine article from my Peugeot main dealer.

I would always recommend using Rain-X with any wiper blades, either old or new.
It's particularly useful on 206 CC with it's steeply raked windscreen as the water just beads immediately, and in anything greater than a light spray you don't actually need to use your wipers at 30mph+... the water just gets blown straight off!
Honestly, I've been on the motorway in torrential rain with all the cars around me using their wipers at full speed while mine were completely turned off, and yet I had great visibility in comparison.
It can go some way towards tackling the "scraunching" noise that GrandadMonkey mentions, but quite simply, if it helps you use your wipers less, then they will take longer to wear out.

aquapel is better neil, you only have to apply every 6 months.
silicon wipers are better + last longer han18 go for the 21" on both sides

I'd go for Bosch AeroTwins. We have them on the CC and three of the other cars and they are much better than standard ones. Ones got a cheaper Trico lookalike and they area also fine. Check the 'tinternet' for deals.

Not a lover of RainX. I found that after a while it gets "scratched" and has to be removed with a mild abrasive screen cleaner (I used Halfords). Actually its worth cleaning any screen once or twice a year (after winter) with that as it gets the layer of grease and rubbish left over from the spray.
