Mate got a 1.6 206cc and it's running sluggish he think it's down to wife driving it till empty all the time.
Any ideas what it could be he's thinking of just selling it just wanted to see if there was a common fault wae them that caused it ???

May be running in limp mode. Any warning lights on dash?

Running on empty is never a good thing, but if it hasn;t been serviced for a while, I would start there. If that doesn't sort it, get it on diagnostics and see ift hat shows anything.
A good bloke who understands live data should be able to tell you what's wrong.
A MAF sensor starting to fail can give this symptom along with poor fuel economy.
