roof not working

Post by shell »

ive had my car for 4 days and the roof worked fine though it sounded rather noisy when going over uneven roads,it always sounded like the passenger side clip was rattling so after dropping the roof to have a look i noticed the bracket where the roof spike locates was snapped and the plastic around the spike distorted so after putting some super glue on the bracket the roof wouldnt work so i did it manually, now all its doing is beeping if i open the clips.if i open the passenger side first there is no beep then when i open the drivers side it just beeps constantly any advice would be great regards shell

Sounds as if you may have got superglue in the micro switch.

I've got one - I've just never had to attack that bit before, so I need to work out how to do it without damaging anything. Should be able to have a look when I get home.

It sounds like you're making progress. Certainly replacing the broken bracket can only be a good thing, and if the windows work when the clasps are shut and the 3 beeps have gone away, then that ought to be a step forwards too.
I've not had to deal with any roof issues (yet) so can offer little advice as far as personal experiences go, but I did notice that if you click on the "Roof" hyperlink where it says "Portal » Board index > 206CC Forums > problems > Roof" above, then there are 9 sticky topics with potentially a lot of clues in them.
If it were me, I'd start from the first page of the top one and gradually work my way methodically through them.
I can only hope that that helps, but if you find any other broken bits then you're welcome to drop me a line because I've still got a full compliment from the car I'm breaking at the moment.

when i had my repaired its was the boots switches, but i got bong on catches but not lower windows or roof then once it did, then did not go back up... so it went to pug garage while it was there they check all switches and test nearly everthing else on it. the battery not very good got advised to change it as this causes so many probs with 206cc, the 307 cc seems to have few probs as well, advised by pug guy to drop roof once or twice a month. i took notice of the things he said as well as info on here and up to now not had any big issues with the car.
