Indicator Fault

Post by clan.mcneill »

Got an interesting fault with our 206cc.

When the headlights are on, the indicators refuse to work - fine when the headlights are switched off.

Bit of a pain at night.

Heard about the Comm2000 unit, and was wondering if this is the culprit? or alternatively is it more likely a case of opening up and cleaning contacts?

Any thoughts would eb appreciated.

Cheers

P

Pound to a penny it's the comm2000. Known to give trouble.

Hi

I have a very similar fault. My horn doesn't work, when I indicate right the full beam comes on & when I indicate left the lights come on!!!! I've got mine booked in with local Peugeot dealer on Thursday. Apparentley this is common fault on Peugeots and it is the COMM2000 as told to me by a Peugeot machanic. There are 2 different model COMM2000 the DAV & the DELPHI and mine was the DELPHI. I have a 2003 1.6. The price is £290.00 fitted inc V.A.T :(

And as if things couldn't get any worse, the middle section of my exhaust has gone and I need 2 new tyres so going in for that tomorrow, £244.00!!!!

Good job I love my car alot :D

Well double ouch!!!

New COMM2000 fixed the indicator problem but not the horn. So had to pay another £50 for investigation. Turned out a wire had shorted out and the horn now works. Went to collect the car and was told I need some new pads on the rear, £99 fitted :( They had washed and valeted it so was quite happy.

However, when I was driving down the road I noticed that the steering wheel wasn't straight, to say I was a little annoyed was an under statement  So it is going back in on Monday to have the steering wheel put right and new rear brake pads.

£244 for exhaust & 2 tyres
£340 for COMM2000 fitting and horn repair
£99 for new rear brake pads

If it had been any other car it would be on ebay by now, so fingers xd that's my car spending over till December when it's M.O.T & service time...can't wait lol x x

Typical, fit new tyres and adjust the tracking which no doubt they charged for, and don't do the tracking properly. Happened with my VW. I should never have let them adjust the tracking. The tyres had worn evenly, the steering didn't pull one way, and the tyres had lasted longer than average. I'm sure they are targeted to sell the tracking service. A "free check" and they only charge if adjustment is required. Funny how adjustment is usually found to be required!

Hi, I am back on the forum after many years!! I still have my 206cc and have a problem very similiar to previous posts.
My indicators will only work with the lights switched on! If I have the lights turned off, the indicators will not work :(
Is this the fault of the indicator stalk? I notice that the used ones are more expensive than new ones (to me as I work in the motor trade) :)
I don't want to buy a new stalk if it could be something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated. My CC is a November 2003 model.

Nice to hear from you again. Hope you are well.

Yes, chances are it'll be the common COMM2000 fault. You could have a go at cleaning it out but most people bite the bullet and go for a brand new one. I think I would.

See:

But if you are brave and want to have a go at repairing it yourself see:
