As GrandadMonkey says this question has been asked and anwered many times. Because it seem to crop up so often I will try and knock up a buyers guide and make it a sticky. Not up to it tonight as full of flu and need to try and sleep. OK.
Cheers Col.

Have the cambelt, idler & tensioner pulleys and water pump been renewed yet? If not they are due. Budget several hundred pounds for this. (Care: If he says he'll change the belt make sure he does the rest too.)

Check it out thoroughly. Use the other links I gave you as a guide.

Good luck Danny.

check the roof anyone who opens it and stops it halfway through the cycle just for a photo might be hiding something not trying to put you off but if it might have stopped (quick photo) then put it down manually, open and close it at least 3 times.
