Hi all,
Can somebody please help me, I have a 2001 Peugeot 206 and the problem is that when I drive the car for between 30 and 45mins the STOP light comes on and the temp gauge goes to the top and the fan comes on, I have tried looking for reasons but cant find any. It seems to happen more often when I turn my heater on.
Any Ideas
Thank You

i would check your coolant and top up if required
also check the wires leading to the engine fan

As Draper says, check your coolant first. Does temp creep up, or suddenly shoot up? In addition it could be thermostat not opening fully.
Cheers Col.

Just a thought: Have you ever had the cambelt renewed? If not then at nearly 12 years old it is overdue. Then the car will most probably be on its original water pump which may be corroding and need renewal. If on the original coolant this may be gunged up and beginning to impede circulation through the heater matrix and radiator.
If the cambelt has never been renewed I'd get it replaced and the water pump at the same time. With a flush and fresh coolant mix this may all solve the problem.

Could be a sensor on the way out. We had this on the HDi and luckily it was under warranty. Peugeot dealer swapped out a sensor and all was fine .. I could get it when driving or even when only the ignition was on .. engine wasn't running and stone cold first thing. You should get the error codes read in case it is registering something.
