airbag light

Post by sheerness »

hi there,
first time user and looking for help
i have a 206 roland-garros (2000) only had it for a few weeks, i have taken out the dash etc and replace the bulbs as most were blown, when turning on the car alot of lights have lighten up but the ones i am worried about are the air bag ones, 2 yellow, one that is on solid with 2 people and a belt across them. and next to it is AIRBAG which does go off just after turn on the ignition then 5 or so mins later it comes back on but flashing!, i have read some places that there are wires under the seats but there is none, i have however found some wiring behind the pillars attached to the seat belts, i had disconnected them and put on electrical spray but there has been no change, i have looked for other wires under the seats but nothing, do i take the seat out and pull back the carpets? next to the steering wheel there is a on/off key lock when switched to off the light on the dash stays solid which it supposed to do when deactivated of the passenger airbag, but when i turn the key to on the off light on the key lock stays to off even tho the key has been turned to on, can someone please help me, only had the car a few weeks and love it even tho we have spent a few pounds on getting some work done to it, any help would be great!

If you can't find the wires under the seat, then that is probably the problem.
Have the seats been changed? This some times happens when people change from cloth to leather and then find that the plugs don't marry up.. The plugs are roughly central on the underside of the seat and the cable comes up through a split in the carpet.
A good code reader would confirm this.
Cheers Col.

hi there capnol thank for your reply, there is a cut in the carpet under both seats, I don't think the seats have been changed as they are half leather half cloth which I b leave they are the originality as the seats have the stamp of roland garros which it is, it looks like I may have to remove both of the seats to try in figure this out, any information that i get from people on this site will be great!... again thank you, ;/

You should see the plugs without taking the seats out.

that was my thinking about the added RG bits, as the relpys above you should see the plugs, sounds like it has been butchered at some point.
