Fuel Filter

Hi,

I'm looking at doing various service items at the moment to my Peugeot 206 cc 2.0 - Petrol.
The fuel filter is on the back right in the fuel line, does anyone have any advice on the best way to remove it for replacement. Should I remove crimp the fuel lines either side to stop fuel leaking out or will only a small amount come out as the pump won't be running?

Also do the pipes clip in or do they need to be unscrewed? - I can't quite tell until I give it a go and don't want to get caught out.

According to Haynes "depress the retaining clips and detach the fuel pipes from the fuel filter". Place a container beneath the fuel filter beforehand to catch all spilt fuel.

"Release the retaining clips and slide the fuel filter out of its holder, noting which way around it is fitted. Slide the new filter into position the correct way round (it should either have an arrow or be stamped "out" at one end). Ensure it is clipped in securely then reconnect both fuel pipes. Ensure the pipes "click" into position on the filter and are securely retained by their quick release fittings."

Start the engine and check for any sign of leaks at the filter.

I haven't done the job myself.

You my friend are a legend, simple direction but hopefully I can manage it.
Going through some tough times with my PUG so hopefully I can start ruling out problems......think I am spending more time reading threads than working on the car.
