Beeping sound after passing a speed bump (Solved with pic!!)

Post by duet »

Whenever with my 2002' 206cc 2.0 roof down and passing through a speed bump or during cornering (body shelf twisted / vibrate), I have got beeping warning sound. Telling me that I have some faulty on my roof.
The beeping will decrease and then stop when I decrease the driving speed and parked.

Firstly, I thought I'm lucky to located the loosen boot lock at the microswitch "F", so screw back those two bolt with T30 tightly and hold the "F" in position. However, problem still persist ! :yuck:

Can brothers help me to locate where will be the problems are ?

I'm happy to drive this lovely Cab with the roof on, so nimble and fuel saving ! and would like to keep her as long as she could !

I have finally figured out the microswitch "I" (in yellow circle) is the cause of my beeping, as the roof retracted and folded inside the chamber, microswitch "I" is pushed upwards, such that the pin (in red circle) will move to the middle of the slot.

However, the pin isn't far away that push the lever down , or only touching a little bit of the lever, so it will "slide" open if vigrous body action is introduced.

I have tied a "wire-tie" to the pin such that making the pin "thicker". Whenever the pin travel upwards,
it can now completely push down the lever and keeping microswitch "I" in contact...

Thanks for my lovely wife to inspire me for the solution. :love-u:

OMG duet I could just hug you to death!!!!

Was driven mad for two days trying to get this roof to work. After changing a window regulator and some stopping of the boot lid mid cycle to prep and pain panels, thought we'd buggered up the system somehow....turns out it wasn't us.

Thanks to you I went and had a very good look at the same microswitch and it had the very same fault as you mentioned. I then proceeded to do the exact same fix as you (thanks also very much to your beautiful wife), and voila!!! A working roof!!!

You have my undying gratitude and if you folks are ever in Sydney the drinks are on me.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
