peugeot 206 gearbox swap problem

bought a cable box instead of hydraulic box
just bought the wrong gear box for my wifes 1.6. her gear box is a hydraulic and the one i bought is a cable one. can i some how swap over part of the box to make it work??

i did it with a vw taking the clutch casing off the box with the hydraulic bit and swaping it with the cable bit so was hoping it could be done here also.
its my first shaft bearing thats away and i get a nice rough gringing noise so i need this swopped asap so bought the box instead of changing the bearing

i did this with a vw years ago swapping over the clutch casing so the hydraulic part replaced the cable arm.

You would have to strip both gearboxes and swap the casings and depending on exact models of gearbox, probably the selectors too. If you're going to that much trouble, it would be simpler to repair existing box.

You can see the bell housing with all the gear assembly in some of the pics. If you change the bell housing onto new box you still have the bearing problem because that is still part of the bell assy. So unless you completly strip the boxes you will be no better off. Hence better to fix problem on existing box, then at least you know it has the right gear ratios etc: for your car.
