Hi, new to here so be gentle!
Right, acquired a 206cc 2.0L 2001MY petrol & have a new issue amongst the other ones that weren't serious.
On startup it revs at about 2-2.5K. Also the oil level & temp go up even tho cold, & eventually go out & drop to cold, however it's still revving its nuts off???
Not sure if this is in the right place, but seeing as i don't know wot caused this, i put it here.
Oh yeah, i did check oil yesterday & it was barely touching bottom of d/stick so bunged 2L in & now its 1/2 way? Is this related?

Hi & welcome to the forum.
This problem is commonly caused by a split or break in one of the air pipes. Have a listen for a hissing noise around the engine

Read that somewhere, & can't hear any hisses, but it is revving so that don't help?
Now i am mechanically adept (albeit M/cycles) so if pointed in right direction i'm sure i can sort it???

Try getting a 2-3ft length of hosepipe and using it as a stethoscope - that should help you to trace the hissing.

Drove it to a friends who's gonna do some work on it, & the revving has stopped? Very strange???
