When I bought my 2003 206cc it always come up with an abs fault on the dash I was told it's more than likely just replacing the sensor but the thing is how do you tell if it's the front or rear sensor that needs replaced?? without having to fork out for both front and rear sensors if I only need to do one or the other
Thanks

Re: Abs fault
It probably is a sensor, but there is 1 at each wheel. A good code reader will tell you where the problem is and will be cheaper in the long run.

Re: Abs fault
Once the sensor is replaced will the fault go or will it need to b reset?

Re: Abs fault
Once the fault is fixed, the light will go out but the fault will still be stored in ecu (hidden) till cleared.
Don't assume it's a wheel sensor. It probably is, but there are 4 on the car, and it could be any one of them or none of them.
Could also be a reluctor ring broken, wiring, or abs ecu, hence why I suggested putting it on proper diagnostics first.
If it is a wheel sensor, it will tell you which one and what is wrong with it ie no coherance, short circuit etc: and will save you from a lot of guess work (and unneccessary expence)
